Supersize me!

My youngest daughter and I are watching "Supersize me!" Man, this is more frightening than when I saw "Jaws" in the theatre!

Thank God Lent is coming!

I haven't seen the movie, though I've heard it's quite disgusting. The problem with it I understand it's tactic is reductio ad absurdum. It exaggerates people's dependence on fast food. Whereas I admit many people overindulge in unhealthy food, I doubt anyone lives only on fastfood, eating it three times a day for months at a time. Any such exaggeration makes for an interesting theoritcal scenario, but in reality, is very inaccurate.

My driving instructor in high school was a bachelor who lived mostly on fast food. To this day, he is about the sickliest person I can remember meeting, barring terminal patients. Every time he visited the bathroom, I was sure he was gonna die!

That's pretty terrible. I don't know why people would do that. Fast food is NOT that cheap, actually... And it doesn't taste great either!

I've got to confess that I'm fond of Subway. And Tim Horton's sandwiches too. But I think I'm quite cured of the Big Mac attack now!

I don't eat fast food unless there's nothing else available, like when I'm on a bus trip. Sometimes in college I eat cheeseburgers if everything else is completely inedible... I'm not sure whether I want to watch that film... I'm not fond of that kind of imagery!
