It is Thanksgiving weekend, and the sun is rising over the just-past-their-peek leaves out my window. It is a pretty site, to say the least.
My parents are coming to stay with us. I am looking forward to it, because I made a mock radio documentary with which to roast my Dad. I'm looking forward to a good roasting. :-)

In the US we roast a turkey for our Thanksgiving meal. Roasting you dad. . .
Happy Thanksgiving!
Well we sort of roasted my Dad. Not quite in the Turkey sense though. :-)
Thanks!
Having much to be thankful for...
Happy Thanksgiving
Belated Happy Thanksgiving. And, um, I hate to be the ignorant American, but we had extensive conversation about this at work yesterday. Is the Canadian Thanksgiving in any way related to the American one? Did Native Americans help out some colonists with food down here and then the colonists moved up there and didn't coordinate the date with the ones left down here? :)
mscamille: you have it pretty much right. Canada was populated with Loyalists after the American Revolution, and Thanksgiving came with them.
We have it as early as we do because the date you folks have it is deep in the winter here. As a holiday, it kind of suits the changing seasons, and harvest time...
Lane: thanks!
Ah yes, it's all about the harvest.
